Baby Saylor Grace surprised us all with a unexpected arrival (7 weeks early), yesterday at 3:45 pm. C* and J* rushed to the University hospital after her water broke early friday morning. Hoping to hold off her delivery at least a couple of days, the doctors admitted jarica and kept close tabs on it all. The lung developement is the hugest concern on a premature baby, and waiting just a few days could really make a difference. The labor continued to progress -- The cute little thing didn't want to wait any longer! She was still in the breach position so a c-section was quickly planned. What a beautiful baby girl she is! Lots of dark, dark hair. Long legs (go W*'s!). Came out with a loud cry (girls got a good set of lungs!). And looks so healthy, with a little bit of chub, for a 4 lb 5 oz little thing. 16 inches long. And so sweet. She is in the NICU (newborn int care unit) for now and probably will be close to her original due date of March 3. The doctors are very encouraging and optiimistic. I will update on her progress and growth. Mom and dad are doing great!
