playgroup halloween bash '09

every friday since last spring we have met up with other mom's & their crazy kids for a play group. last week was anne's turn & she threw the greatest halloween party for the kids. she made ghost pretzels, vampire fangs out of apples & slivered almonds, and of course the homemade sugar cookies which we helped the kiddies frost. The kids had a great time. ella really enjoys playing with all of her friends. she is getting better at sharing and is always asking about them and talking about them. as we were leaving the party, ella stopped at the bottom of anne's stairs, turned around & said "we sure had a good time today" in her most grown up way. both anne & i couldn't help but laugh. it was so cute. here are some of ella's little friends in their halloween costumes...alex the dalmation, marin the skeleton ballerina, ella our princess, max the pirate, elias the fireman, noah our little cow, & bryce the little skeleton..PhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucket

bishops pumpkin patch

last weekend we went to a fun little pumpkin patch. Ella had her face painted, noah had fun playing drums on the giant fairy tale pumpkins, and I enjoyed having chris there to help me chase the kids. (he insisted that the stroller was not necessary...remind me to never let him decide whether or not the stroller should come along....the stroller is ALWAYS necessary!!)PhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucket
noah likes to tease his big sister. I often hear ella yelling...MOMMMM! Noah is BUGGING me! I have been working on teaching her to say "mom, please move him." instead of pushing him out of her way. We have a lot of work to do on that one. i found this picture today from last spring. Noah loved to steal ella's binky... i found him like this one morning as we were getting ready for church. I bought this funny bowtie in the dollar section of target. I thought it would be cute for him to wear on easter. Actually,he kind of looks like a little chip 'n dale! Photobucket

it's in the air...

Yeah Noni (ella's new nickname for noah)!!

Photobucket "why would i be doing this?" Photobucket "when i could be doing this!"

cowgirl?

i am thinking of having ella be a cowgirl and noah can be a cowboy (well, a boy in a cow costume at least) for halloween. i can borrow the cow costume for noah from a friend...and ella pretty much has everything already. i haven't really asked her what she wants to be. i am avoiding doing that because i am afraid that she will say CODY! i don't feel like making an adolescent boy/mermaid costume...thats a little bit weird!! the cutest smile!

i told her to smile like a princess...why didn't i think of saying that months ago! THIS is my ella. i LOVE LOVE LOVE this picture of her, i will cherish it forever. she is such a sweet girl...i can see that when i look at this picture. my happy, funny, teasing little girl. Photobucket she is turning into such the little girly-girl....it is all about dressing up, nail polish, playing in moms make-up, wanting only "one-ponytail" like her mama, getting married, and of course..."MOM!! noah's bugging me! (i am FOR SURE it is not the end of me hearing that!) she loves to play dress up and cook "saylor" dinner in her new (mine when i was little) kitchen. she loves her dolls and lately likes to pretend that she is either the dentist or the doctor and i am the patient. she is still "cody" quite frequently. some mornings i just know by her expression who i need to be talking to. i better not give her a dress to wear, a doll to play with,or a pink bowl to eat cereal in. cody likes the colors blue & green, hats, swimming in the ocean, and acting really crazy and wild (i guess this is what being a boy-or should i say a mermaid boy- is all about in her eyes.) not to long ago i asked her what she was doing and she said "ummm, nothing. cody's just hanging out." we get alot of laughs when she is in cody mode. she likes to play tricks on me. i always find new things in the refridgerator. flipflops, moo moo, cups...just about anything she is playing with ends up there. she will grab my hand and say "look mom i tricked you", then laugh as she opens the door to show me. she loves to play in her room. when we first moved in i painted the whole room pink. it was quite overwhelming and i decided to re-paint a couple walls white and leave just one pink(YES..i know i am a little crazy...and YES,i know that it is a rental and we are moving in less than a year from now...so what. it had to be done. i couldn't handle looking at our hallway "glow" with a pinkish hue.) anyways, she used to tell everyone about her pink room. when she wanted to play with her toys she would say to me "I am going to my pink room". about a week ago she said that she was tired and that she wanted to go to her "pink and white" room. i didn't know that she noticed. i painted the white parts while her and noah were napping. i thought that i would get in trouble by miss ella so i tried to be sneaky...she caught me. I put up some hooks on her wall so that she could hang her tutus and her "marry dress" (to get married in, of course!). she helped me put them all up and she was so excited...she gasped and said "you did that for me? thank you mom...i love it!" later in the day i walked by her room and noticed that all the pink, frilly, dress-ups were laying on the ground & 5 little princess panties had taken their places on the hooks. each was so carefully hung..it was too cute. i should've got a picture! she is very proud to be wearing big girl panties. she tells everyone about it. we went to the same park 2x today. it was a long day for me, so we just kept getting out to try and make everyone happy. she still loves to swing. she really could do that all day long. she wanted to go on the big kid swings today. i told her she could but that she had to hold on tight and not go very fast. at one point she noticed that the other kids on the big swings didn't have their mommy pushing them so she told me she wanted to do it herself. i stepped back a little to let her think she was big and on her own. i noticed that she was slipping a little out of the seat so i walked up to her and tried to help her get back in the right position. she kind of pushed my arm away and said "i am big". i told her "i know, i am just helping you to get your little bum back on the seat, you are starting to slip." she grunted, "ugh! my bum is NOT little...it is BIG."
